EasierPromotionBot

EasierPromotionBot is the web crawler run by Easier Promotion. It reads publicly available academic staff profile pages on university websites to build a directory of researchers and their areas of expertise.

How it behaves

• It follows each site's robots.txt rules and Crawl-delay, and waits between requests.
• It only reads pages that are publicly available, and stops if a site presents a bot check. It never signs in or tries to get around protection.
• It records names, job titles, departments and research interests, and an email address only where the page publishes one openly.

Blocking it

To stop it crawling your site, add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: EasierPromotionBot
Disallow: /

Removing your details

If you'd like your details removed from the directory, email noreply@easierpromotion.com with the web address of your profile page. We'll remove them and make sure the crawler never adds them again. See also our privacy notice.
