Terms of use
Draft: to be reviewed before the site goes live.
The service
Easier Promotion collects publicly available research metrics and helps you organise them into evidence for a promotion case. It is a tool to support your own judgement and your institution's process. It doesn't decide or predict promotion outcomes.
Accuracy
Figures come from third-party databases that differ in coverage and can contain errors, such as missing papers or papers wrongly attributed to someone. Check figures against the original sources before you rely on them, and use the profile health check. AI-drafted narratives are a starting point: you're responsible for checking every statement before you use it.
Your account
Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be entitled to add any academic you track, and you must not use the service to collect information about people for unrelated purposes.
Fair use
Each account can track up to 25 academics. Don't attempt to overload the service, get around its limits, or access other people's accounts.
Third-party services
Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science and OpenAlex are run by others, and their availability is outside our control. Easier Promotion is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Elsevier, Clarivate or OpenAlex.
Changes and ending
We may change the service or these terms and will tell you about significant changes. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
